Cairns ZOOM and Wildlife Dome

The Cairns ZOOm is the world’s first Challenge Ropes Course in a wildlife park, situated in the centre of Cairns on the rooftop of the Reef Hotel Casino.

Experience adventure at varying heights and levels of difficulty on the Mid-ZOOm and Hi-ZOOm courses, with 65 elements including crossings, climbing walls, tunnels and ziplines – including one which takes you directly over a 4 metre saltwater crocodile.

The course uses a continuous belay system, SafeRoller, so you’re connected via harness to a safety cable system that you’re unable to disconnect from whilst traversing through the elements. It's a fun activity to do on your own, as a couple, or with a group of friends, and it's also a great workout – you won’t need to go to the gym afterwards.

Another enthralling component is the PowerJump, a free-fall adventure where you jump off a 13m high tower attached by rope to make a rapid descent, with a fan device ensuring a gentle and smooth landing.

The Dome-Climb is a scenic walk along an external platform around the Dome, with spectacular views of the city, the Coral Sea, and surrounding landscapes.

Be educated about and interact with native animals in the Wildlife Dome, with daily shows and presentations. Have your photo taken holding a koala or small crocodile (extra cost). Keep an eye out for Snowy the rare white kookaburra, as well as turtles, pythons, crocodiles, lizards, gliders, rainforest wallabies, and a wide range of bird species.
