Newcastle Prides LGBTQIA+ Arts & Culture Festival

Friday October 7 – Sunday November 6, 2022

We are thrilled to be BACK with our annual LGBTQIA+ Arts and Cultural Festival with an amazing month-long program of out ’n’ proud glamorous and inclusive events. Friday 23rd September we are excited to be launching what is believed to be Newcastle’s FIRST EVER “Pride Golf Tournament” this is our Major standalone sporting event for the year.

“Followed by our annual festival in October and the raising of the “Pride Progress Flag” at our OFFICIAL FESTIVAL launch on Friday 7th October in Civic Park. Followed by Fair day, Twisted Cabaret, Queer Youth Formal, Dance Party, AFL Pride Cup, Art, food, wine and much more to come. Our vision is to make the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Region a happier, healthier, safer and more culturally rich place for all of the LGBTQIA+ community.

To empower the current and future generations to be their true selves and feel accepted and proud of who they are, regardless of their gender identity or sexuality. We aspire to a safer, more inclusive future for our community.

Friday October 7, 2022 – 6pm -10.30pm: FREE official Festival Launch

Come one, come all for the Raising of the Pride Progress Flag in Civic Park Newcastle at 6pm followed by night OUT at the Carnivale. Cruze sideshow alley toss a handbag while being entertained by some of Newcastle’s finest performers.

Saturday October 8, 2022 – 6pm – 11pm: Queer Youth Formal

Newcastle Pride is launching our first “Youth Pride Tribe” event and what a way to launch with our first Queer Youth Formal”. A celebration of and for LGBTQIA+ Youth and ally teens at Newcastle Museum, Gather your pals and and enjoy a night of LGBTQIA+ performers, live music, dance, queer vibes, food and much more. FREE EVENT FOR YOUTH | AGED 12 TO 19 ONLY a safe place 2beU.

Friday October 14: Maitland event to be announced – Stay tuned and pencil this date in.

Saturday October 15, 2022: Lake Macquarie Lycra bike ride & Pride by Night

2pm – 4pm: “LETS GET PHYSICAL” Family Friendly FREE 80’s LYCRA AND RAINBOW bike ride around the Lake Macquarie.

5pm – 9pm: Pride by Night @ Speers Point Park

A afternoon/evening of exhibitors, entertainers, food and frivolities. Family Friendly Free events

Saturday October 22, 2022: Twisted Cabaret | Newcastle City Hall

6.30pm for pre-show drinks Joy Cummings Room. Main hall opens 7pm – 12am

The highly anticipated Cabaret night at the glamorous Newcastle City Hall. Enjoy a sumptuous two course meal (or show only) and a night of edgy performance art, a glamorous, gritty and tantalizing smorgasbord of camp burlesque, and elevated drag from leading queer cabaret artists from around the country.

Friday October 28, 2022: Drag Raffles, Mayfield Bowling Club 6pm – 8pm: Friday night raffles with a Twist!

2A Ingall street Mayfield, Head to the Mayfield Bowlo for raffles, great prizes, entertainment, cheap drinks and Great food.

Saturday October 29, 2022: Newcastle Pride Dance Party.

Friday November 4, 2022: Yass at the Lass! 6.30pm – 11.30pm: Raffle drawn at 7.30pm.

Thank GAWD it’s Friday! Our FREE monthly end of week wind down event with Drag raffles, vibrator races. Get your Friday frock ready and head to the Lass O’Gowrie Hotel, 14 Railway St, Wickham

Saturday November 5, 2022: Newcastle Pride Fair Day, Foreshore Park, Shortland Lawn and amphitheatre 11am – 5pm:

We are thrilled to be BACK with our spectacular annual signature all LGBTQIA+ all-inclusive Newcastle Pride fair day at Foreshore Park. Before COVID our 2019 Fair day attracted 10,000 locals and people from afar. Fair day is sure to entertain the whole family. This free, family friendly all-day event and is our biggest event of the festival and includes a: youth tent, meet up tent, glamorous drag shows and non-stop performance art, live music, Doggywood parade, kid’s space, food vans, mixed retail stalls, LGBTQIA+ Community stalls and so much more, there is a fun space to suit everyone.

NEW IN 2022 from 6pm – 10 pm: 4 hours of after dark dance music with awesome Guest DJ’s and queer performances.
