In 1985, a group of passionate and brave Darwinites came together to create the very first Darwin Pride, which celebrated the Top End’s diverse LGBTQIA+ communities through artistic expression and cultural celebration.
Today, Top End Pride continues this legacy by creating, producing, and showcasing artistic works that reflect and empower our community. We are committed to fostering artistic outcomes by:
We advocate for LGBTQIA+ Territorians, lobby for funding to sustain and expand artistic programming, and provide educational resources to promote cultural understanding. Our annual festival and year-round events are designed not only to entertain but to normalise queer representation and ensure that the Top End remains an inclusive and vibrant place for all.
Top End Pride is run by passionate volunteers who work closely with local government bodies and arts organizations to amplify queer voices through cultural expression. We are committed to creating art that matters—producing shows and events that inspire, challenge, and celebrate the diversity of our community.
We are grateful and humbled to work on Larrakia land and pay our respects to Larrakia elders past and present.
