Wildlife Habitat Port Douglas

The award-winning Wildlife Habitat, located in Port Douglas, provides visitors with a chance to experience the wildlife of Wetlands, Rainforest, Savannah and Woodlands environments in an open and interactive setting.

Explore the Rainforest Habitat from forest floor to canopy as you make your way along the boardwalks and admire the wildlife that call this environment home, including the southern cassowary.

Savannah Habitat offers you the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, as well as admire emus and the Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroo.

Dive into the aquatic territory of the mighty Estuarine Crocodile at the brand new CrocArena. This off-the-scale Swim With The Salties experience is the only one of its kind in Queensland and allows guests to swim eye-to-teeth with these terrifying apex predators and live to tell the tale!

Our Swim With The Salties crocs, Big Al and Ton – fresh from Australia Zoo, are not for the faint-hearted. With the bigger of the two crocs at a size of just over 4.3 metres long, weighing in at nearly 400 kilograms, these boys are a sight to behold!

Join a guided tour with one of our experienced Wildlife Keepers to learn more about the wildlife inhabiting the park. You can cuddle a Koala, small crocodile or snake, and get a photo to remember the occasion.

Start your day with a sumptuous Breakfast with the Birds or stop for a break and enjoy hot and cold drinks, morning tea, lunch or a quick snack in the Curlew Café throughout the day.
